RAW MATERIALS USED IN JEWELLERY BOXES

VERY FIRST RAW MATERIAL NEEDED

The very first important raw materials those we use are: boards and kabja.

MDF BOARDS

MDF boards (Medium density fiber board) are the one of the most important and basic raw material required. Because of their strong strength and smooth surface they are used as the base for the boxes. These are made by the composite of hardwood and softwood that’s why it has the strength of both woods: high moisturising strength (softwood) and strong strength and smooth surface (hardwood).

Besides this they are also used in furniture manufacturing as well.

Commonly they are available in dimensions 8 x 4 meter.

THICKNESS AVAILABLE IN MDF BOARDS

    a)   3.6mm
b)  4.5mm
c)   5.5mm
d)  7.0mm
e)  9.8mm
f)    11.0mm
g)   17.0mm

The starting price of these boards is very reasonable as per their quality their rate starts with 320-1500 rupees.

HARDBOARDS

These are same as the MDF boards and the only difference between them is of thickness and strength. Hardboards are thinner than the MDF boards. That’s why they are used to make inside parts and sections of the jewellery boxes.

THICKNESS AVAILABLE IN HARDBOARDS

    a)   1.7mm
b)  1.9mm
c)   2.1mm
d)  2.3mm
e)  3.3mm
f)   3.5mm

The starting price of these boards is very reasonable as per their quality their rate starts with 550-1200 rupees.

PARTICLE BOARDS

These are the eco-friendly boards those are made by waste eco materials. They are made by cow dung, cow fodder and wood strips which made these boards eco-friendly. They also have same strong strength like MDF Board and hardboard.

Particle boards are of two types:
1.   Rough board
2.   Smooth board

Usually, smooth particle boards are used in manufacturing of the jewellery boxes. Rough boards are less used because on cutting them the fodder strips starts coming out and make them uneven in size.

The starting price of these boards is very reasonable as per their quality their rate starts with 550-1200 rupees.

KABJA

This is the part that help the box to close and open the box easily. These are also used in doors but those are bigger in size and those we use in jewellery boxes are smaller than common one.

THESE COME IN THE TERMS OF NUMBER OF HOLES

    a)   4 dots
b)  6 dots
c)   8 dots

Kabja’s are changed in use according to size of boxes.

The starting price of these kabja is very reasonable as per their quality their rate starts with 60-90 rupees.
